Slavery has been around for as long as there has been recorded history, it is still a big part of world today. Children in Africa are being kidnapped and tricked into slavery at this very moment. They’re going to be forced to work in mines and fields, and they’re going to be forced to be sex laborers. Children are being taken from hispanic and eastern european countries right now and being sold into to human sex trafficking which is also slavery. Children are being taken from asian countries and given the same treatment. ANd are these just white people doing all of this? No it’s the people that look just like them that are fueling and creating this market.
And before anyone tells me it’s white people profiting from this or creating a demand for this, what kind of profit is a white dude getting from a 13 year old african girl getting raped by an older african man? What kind of profit are white people getting from a 16 year old girl getting promised to be brought here to live a free life from the poverty she lived in, in mexico or south america and then getting forced to have sex with random guys fill the pockets of the same hispanic man that brought her here?
Yes slavery is one of the worst things to happen in america, along with the native american genocide, japanese americans being put in concentration camps, and the Jim Crow laws but you can not sit here and tell every white person that they need to feel guilty for it and that it is some how their fault. You can’t make others take blame for actions they not only didn’t take part in, but weren’t even alive to see.
This is how I started thinking about the generalizations and assumptions I make about people. I think to myself, “How would I feel if they said this about black people” and if it would piss me if I stop myself and correct it because I do not want to be like any asshole out there calling every black person this or that, I want to be better than them. And if people would start trying to better than those actual piece of shit racists out there then think about how much more positive the world will be.
